The Highland Drove has received one of the highest accolades in the UK when Donald and Paul Newton, pictured left, received the Northern Dining Pub of the Year award from Les Routiers in London.

"This is a fantastic award to receive and makes the years of hard work from our loyal staff and ourselves worthwhile," said Donald. "Between us all we have managed to turn the Highland Drove into one of the best places to eat in Cumbria and probably the North West, serving the finest food in a friendly and convivial atmosphere."

The Les Routiers award follows hot on the heel of a pub award from the other key food guide in the UK - Michelin.

Another deserved feather in the cap for the Drove team is that not only has it made it to the Good Pub Guide's main section but weas nominated Cumbrian Dining Pub of the Year as well.
